Japan takes U.S. Futenma base’s delayed relocation ‘seriously’
The relocation of the U.S. Futenma base, now in a congested area in Ginowan in Okinawa Prefecture, is “the only viable solution,” the top government spokesman said.
Okinawa Gov. Denny Tamaki plans to run for a third term in the prefecture’s gubernatorial election and will officially announce his candidacy at a news conference in Naha on March 28, sources said.
