This lovely ginger fellow is Zenzai, named after the Japanese dessert of red beans and mochi rice cake. Zenzai is just as sweet and also extremely friendly.

Left alone in a house after his owner died, Zenzai was cared for by a neighbor who eventually brought him to ARK. Unlike many newcomers to the shelter, he warmed to his new digs immediately. After his arrival, he started having some health issues but is doing well now, thanks to prompt medical attention.

Zenzai was discovered to have some health issues, but these should be manageable with medication and proper care.

Though he does require medication, it’s a simple enough regimen for someone familiar with cats. A happy and affectionate boy, he will make a cuddly companion for the right owner.
